Go for a Swim

Swimming or treading water is a great way to work the cardiovascular system. Swimming can burn 400-500 calories or more per hour, depending on the intensity and your current weight.

I always feel so refreshed after a swim and I can really feel my heart rate elevate. Freestyle, backstroke, or butterfly, try them all!

Stay Dry in Water on a Stand-Up Paddle Board

Stand-Up Paddle-boarding (SUP) is a lot of fun and a great upper body, core, and stabilization workout. As the sport is getting increasingly popular, you can usually find a location to rent a SUP pretty easily at most lakes and harbors.

Speed Things Up on Waterskis

Water Skiing and Wakeboarding are two not-so-extreme, high-speed activities that present an opportunity to work on your core and balance.

If you have never tried it before be prepared to fall, a lot! But smile in the process, it is a lot of fun and the perfect activity to do with your friends.

Focus On Your Mental Wellness with Some Yoga & Meditation

Aqua yoga, SUP yoga, sandy yoga—no matter where you are, a couple of stretches and some mindful breathing will help to make your vacation even more enjoyable.

Loading up an online yoga class on your phone while you set up your mat in an outdoor space will help to make the experience more enjoyable and the best part is, it's totally free and requires little to no equipment.

Set Sail with a Kayak or Canoe

Both kayaking and canoeing are low-impact sports that can improve your aerobic fitness, strength, and flexibility.

They increase your cardiovascular fitness, torso, and leg strength, and there is a reduced risk of wear and tear of joints and tissues.

Take Things Slow with a Barefoot Walk

Believe it or not, simply forgoing shoes and taking a walk on the beach provides you with an opportunity to strengthen your feet and improve your balance. You'll likely notice that especially on sand, a short lap can fire up your calves.
